Ministry

Ministering to people is a part of our foundation as a church. Ministry by definition is demonstrating God’s love to others by meeting their needs and healing their hurts in the name of Jesus. Our church is here to minister to all kinds of needs: spiritual, emotional, relational, and physical. Jesus said that even a cup of cold water given in His name was considered as ministry and would not go unrewarded. We are fulfilling Ephesians 4:12 (NRSV) to “… equip the saints for the work of the ministry.”
Our motto here at Abundant Life is “every member a minister.” Here are a few ways that we help “equip” people for their ministry:

Wednesday Night Bible Study – Every Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m., we gather in the sanctuary to receive teaching that will help us  continue to grow as New Testament Christians and further develop our personal ministries. Pastor Keller or another able minister teaches Biblical principles that prepare the people of God to fulfill their individual call to minister to those around them.

Mentoring Class – Every other Saturday evening Pastor Keller spends time with our Connect Point leaders training them for the next level of ministry. These are the individuals that we lean on most for ministering to the body and developing disciples of Christ. They teach Bible studies, preach, pray for the sick, visit and follow-up on new believers, lead Connect Points, and extend the reach in pastoral care.

Point of Influence – At Abundant Life we understand that everything rises and falls on leadership.  It is the leaders that make things happen.  With that understanding comes the realization that true leadership is influence, and that in order for every leader to be successful that must have influence, but most of all, they must have a place where they are influenced.  A place where they are stretched and grown to be better…a Point Of Influence.  On the first Saturday of every month the leadership of Abundant Life meets to be influenced, so they can influence and lead others to a stronger relationship with God.
