Discipleship

Here at Abundant Life we make education a top priority. Our desire is to edify and educate God’s people to ensure their success in their Christian walk. Discipleship is the process of helping people become more like Christ in their thoughts, feelings, and actions. This process begins when a person is born again and continues throughout the rest of his life. Colossians 1:28 (NCV) says, “We continue to preach Christ to each person, using all wisdom to warn and to teach everyone, in order to bring each one into God’s presence as a mature person in Christ.”

As the church we are called not only to reach people, but also to teach them. We accept the responsibility and the challenge to develop people to spiritual maturity. We are willing to take it a step further and not only help prepare them for spiritual success, but also we are endeavoring to put into their hands the tools necessary to enjoy success in their marriages, in parenting, in the workplace, and in life in general.

There are multiple forums we employ to reach our goal of Discipleship. Here are several ways you can achieve success in your Christian walk at Abundant Life:

Life Development Institute (LDI) – This is our adult education curriculum in which we offer classes at every level of personal and spiritual growth. Classes include everything from landscaping and interior decorating to prayer and the tenants of the faith. In order to prepare people for the challenges of every aspect of life, we teach classes on such topics as leadership, relationships, anger management, end time prophecy, health, and understanding the Bible.

C.L.A.S.S. (Christian Life and Service Seminars) – The goal of our church is to move people from the outer circle (low commitment/maturity) to the inner circle (high commitment/maturity). We call this “moving people from the community into the core.” This is done through C.L.A.S.S., a spiritual maturity course designed to walk participants into deeper spiritual maturity and a stronger commitment to the local body of believers.

Connect Points – We are striving to grow larger and smaller at the same time. Connect Points allow us to do just that by providing opportunities for people to get together to study God’s Word in small groups all over the city. Connect Points range from one-on-one personal studies to small groups of 15-20 to congregations of 50-100 in homes, coffee shops, community centers, and smaller church buildings all around our community. For more information on how to get involved, click the Connect Point tab of our website.

Children’s Ministry and Youth Ministry – We believe that our children and young people are the heritage of the Lord and we take their education very seriously. For more information on both of these ministries click on the tabs for Children’s Ministry and Youth Ministry.
